Paula Arce Becerra

She is an Associate Professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She has taught in the subjects of «Theory of Law» and «International Protection of Human Rights» in the Degree of Law and the subject «Domestic Violence and Crime against Women» through the Degree in Criminology. She also teaches the Master of Communication and Gender at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Her main lines of research are human rights related to sexist violence and sexual work. She has participated in the R + D + I research project «The development of fundamental rights in the municipal ordinances: limits and violation of rights from a gender perspective» and in the project «Diagnosis of the Comprehensive Recruitment and Recovery Network for to Women in a situation of Sexist Violence «, among others.

Apart from her academic activity, she has been a practicing lawyer since 2002 specializing in the defence of human rights. She is part of the Commission for the Defence of Rights of the Person and of the Free Exercise of Advocacy in the School of Advocacy of Barcelona, ​​the Association Women Jurists and the Catalan Association for the Defence of Human Rights. She has given legal advice to the Specialized Intervention Service on Sexist Violence, the Women’s Attention Team of Barcelona City Council, the Office for Non-Discrimination of Barcelona City Council and the Association Generates, among others.
