Glòria Casas Vila

Degree in Sociology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) (2006) and Master’s Degree in Social and Gender Policies from the Université Jean Jaurès (2007). She is currently conducting her doctoral thesis at the THEMA research group of the University of Lausanne, under the co-direction of the professors Véronique Mottier and Encarna Bodelón. Since 2011 she has taught, as an assistant, at the University of Lausanne, introductory classes to gender studies and feminist theories, an introduction to sociology and, for two years, she has given a master’s seminar on feminist theories of Intersectionality with Pauline Delage. She also teaches at the «Genre et Politiques d’Egalité» (Université de Toulouse Jean Jaurès) and has taken part in the postgraduate course on UAB sexist violence.

Her doctoral thesis deals with the political responses to the problem of sexist violence in Spain and in Catalonia, analysing, in particular, the development of family mediation from a gender perspective and the experiences of women survivors of sexist violence who have participated in a mediation process. In the Antigona Centre, she has participated in many local, state and European projects, among which we must point out the study «Practical Guide for Municipal Professionals on Family Mediation with a Gender Perspective. Analysis and guidelines for local intervention «(2010) and the European project of the 3rd Daphne Program» Wosafejus: Why She Does not Press Fees «(2009-2011).
